Carbon Saving

Carbon bad - Bike good

At CompanyX we hate being stuck in traffic. Too many cars, pollution and the price of petrol - don't even get us started. We also reckon we could do with being a bit fitter and let's face it, gyms stink.

So since April 2008, we've been cycling in to work whenever possible. Our target is to save a tonne of CO2 emissions in a year. We've calculated our consumption based on each persons car and the distance travelled from each house. Our calculations were formulated by going to http://www.dft.gov.uk/ActOnCO2/

If you want to do something similar and get a cracking pair of calf muscles thrown into the bargain, get on your bike and take your car off the road, even if it's just for a day a month! If you want to find out more go to http://www.forestofavon.org/climateactive.html or for the best cycle route http://www.sustrans.org.uk/

Carbon savings so far:

April - 61kg

May - 85kg

June - 62kg
