Seven Degrees West Branding

Father and son team, Andrew and Ben Purcell, wanted to offer people the opportunity to hire classic, new build, high spec VW Campers Vans. They had the name ‘Seven Degrees West’ already, but no idea what to do with it, or how to position themselves. The main idea was to offer the chance to get out and live the VW Camper Van dream. Even if it was just for the weekend. The package offered to clients also included welcome hampers plus insider knowledge of the best beaches, surf spots, pubs etc.

What were CompanyX asked to do?

Create an identity which would help to promote their services stylishly and effectively to a demanding target market. This identity had to work effectively across a wide range of executions. Launched Feb 2007.

Target audience. 30-50 ABC1. “I’m always on the look out for something a bit different. My job is so demanding and my time precious, so when I do get the chance to get away, it’s got to be right. Camper vans? I love them and always used to want one, but life got in the way. Hiring one sounds great but what would I do with it, where would I go? I’d love to round up some friends and just take off, like an adventure, but with a great pub at the end of it.“

The tone of voice: Think road trips with a stylish, comfortable, retro twist.

Outcome since launch: In Sunday Times Top 100 holidays, booked until September 2008, new clothing range, national press coverage.
